It is easier to transport, handle and store clay building bricks if they are on flat pallets. Additional protective measures can be kept to a minimum. Very few straps are necessary. Steel straps are no longer necessary. Polyester strap of high tensile strength is more suitable, because it keeps it’s strength even if the load perimeter shrinks during handling or storage. In addition the corners are less stressed. If large bricks are packed it is particularly obvious that less security is necessary. In most cases only 3 - 4 Polyester straps (1 or 2 horizontal, 2 vertical) are sufficient. Poroton products are extremely delicate on the corners, both film wrapping and polyester strapping may be considered. It is not necessary to use plastic film for unitising bricks. However, it can prevent the bricks from getting wet when stored outside for long periods of time. Vertical strapping machine XPV 111. Horizontal strapping machine XF 172.
