When a number of bundles have been stacked onto a pallet, the load is secured with 2 to 4 straps. The load is compressed before straps are applied. This gives stability to the load during transport and makes it possible to stack pallets on top of each other in the warehouse. The amount of pressure applied by the compression strapper is a maximum of 30 to 50 kN.
Depending on the duration of storage, transport conditions and the customers´ instructions, the load is also stretchwrapped. The film protects against the ingress of dust, dirt and rain and improves the cohesion of the pallet load.
Folding box manufacturers who have no corrugator of their own obtain their blanks from the corrugated board manufacturers as sheets. The sheets are stacked on a pallet, compressed and strapped just like the bundles of small boxes but because of their large size, bundling is not necessary.
