One-way or returnable not only determines the beverage container and the multiunit pack type, but also the pallet securement (see table below). Plastic crates nest into one-another to ensure load integrity which is easier to obtain than with corrugated cases and trays. More common however, is the use of film because it gives protection against dust and dirt as well as stability but several straps are necessary when strap alone is used.
There are two types of stretch wrapping machines available, one with a turntable and the other a ring wrapper (the pallet load is not under centrifugal stress). The turntable wrapper is a good choice for low or middle output and the ring wrapper for high output.
